  • Appointed as Whatcom County Superior Court Commissioner in 1989
  • Served as a Whatcom County Land Use Hearing Examiner from 1986 – 1989 presiding over land use permit applications in Whatcom County
  • Moved to Bellingham in 1980 with his wife Johanna and began private law practice
  • Received a BS in History from the University of Colorado, and earned his law degree at the University of Idaho.
